<p>In the present invention, a video encoding method with improved encoding efficiency is provided with the following: a step (S303) for calculating an orthogonal conversion skip-flag value by determining whether orthogonal conversion should be applied; a step (S304) for calculating at least one orthogonal conversion coefficient by performing orthogonal conversion of a prediction residual in accordance with the orthogonal conversion skip-flag value; a step (S305) for calculating at least one quantization coefficient by quantizing the at least one orthogonal conversion coefficient; a step (S306) for performing variable length encoding on the orthogonal conversion skip flag; and a step (S307) for switching the scan order of the at least one quantization coefficient according to the orthogonal conversion skip-flag value, and performing variable length encoding of the at least one quantization coefficient in accordance with the switched scan order.</p> |
