The fuel feed device comprises a pre-feed pump (2) through which fuel from a fuel tank (1) is fed by suction from a fuel line (3) in machine room (4) of a high-pressure pump (5). The machine room is connected to a return line (8) through the shaft bearings (6,7). The pre-feed pump functions as a regulated electrical fuel pump, and the machine room is connected to the return line through the shaft bearings which are connected in parallel to a throttle (9). The throttle is arranged more adjustably in the housing bore of the high-pressure pump.
