The hydrostatic piston machine has a cylinder drum (4), in which one or multiple cylinder bores (7) are formed. The axially movable pistons (8) are arranged in the cylinder bores. A layer of a friction-reducing material is applied on the walls of the cylinder bores. The friction-reducing material is a dry lubricant or sliding lacquer. The layer of friction-reducing material is applied on the walls of the cylinder bores with an oversize gap between the walls of the cylinder bores and the cylindrical lateral surface of the piston.
