Treating ankylosing spondylitis (Marie-strumpel inflammatory disease), which affects iliosacral joints and vertebral column, is claimed. The iliosacral joints and vertebral column are completely stiffened in the final stage and sometimes the large joints of the lower limbs are affected during the disease process. The disease primarily affects men and begins between 20 and 40 years. The ankylosing spondylitis is a genetic disposition disease and a positive human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-B27 is demonstrated in 90% of cases.
