The present invention relates to a driving system for a series hybrid vehicle, the invention comprising: a main traction motor for transmitting mechanical driving force to a driving mechanism of a vehicle by using power supplied by a first inverter; a sub traction motor for transmitting mechanical driving force to the driving mechanism of the vehicle by using power supplied from a second inverter; a clutch device which mechanically connects and disconnects an engine of the vehicle to and from the sub traction motor, or mechanically connects and disconnects the sub traction motor to and from the driving mechanism of the vehicle; and a control device which controls the first inverter and the second inverter such that power supplied from an energy storage can be supplied to the main traction motor and the sub traction motor, and performs an electric vehicle (EV) mode for controlling the clutch device such that the sub traction motor can be connected to the driving mechanism of the vehicle and disconnected from the engine. As a result, the present invention can improve utilization of resources in comparison with a conventional system by changing a generator, performing only a conventional function of generating electricity, to a sub traction motor capable of the driving of a vehicle and improve driving efficiency.
