PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side airbag device for vehicle capable of pushing up an upper arm of a seated occupant well.SOLUTION: A side airbag 20 of a side airbag device 10 for vehicle is divided into a shoulder bag section 28 and a main bag section 30 by a tether 26. The shoulder bag section 28 is set to be smaller than the main bag section 30 in vehicle width direction dimension in an inflation and deployment state, and an inner side face in the vehicle width direction on an upper end of the main bag section 30 is inclined or curved to rise more as the side face gets more toward the outside in the vehicle width direction. The tether 26 is formed to be positioned on a more downward side than the center O of a shoulder section S of a seated occupant P and on a more upward side than a side U of a seated occupant P when viewed from the vehicle width direction. Thus, when the side airbag 20 and the seated occupant P relatively approach each other due to impact of side collision, a lower portion in the side face of the shoulder S comes into slide contact with the inclined or curved surface and the shoulder section S is pushed up, thereby promoting to push up the upper arm A. |
