PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid dynamic bearing assembly and a spindle motor including the same.SOLUTION: A fluid dynamic bearing assembly includes a shaft hole, a sleeve with a rotatable shaft, and a cover member covering the shaft hole on an axially lower side. On an inner surface of the sleeve, indentations indented radially outward and formed between the upper and lower sides of the sleeve and a portion where a radial bearing is formed. A bearing contact part is disposed so that the portion where the radial bearing is formed is located closer to a shaft than other portions. The bearing contact part includes a through hole formed in an axial direction to communicate with the indentation part.
