<p>A treatment system (1) is provided with: a treatment instrument (2) having a pair of holding members (10) which are capable of opening and closing, and with which heat energy generated by a heat generation unit (20) is applied to living tissue (LT) held therebetween; a signal output unit (31) which delivers a driving signal to the heat generation unit (20); a setting unit (32) which sets a target temperature for the heat generation unit (20); a signal detection unit (33) which detects the current and voltage of the driving signal; a controller (34) which controls the temperature of the heat generation unit (20) by adjusting the electric power of the driving signal; a signal extraction unit (35) which extracts a signal having a prescribed frequency band from the driving signal detected by the signal detection unit (33); a failure detection unit (36) for detecting precursory phenomena associated with failure of the heat generation unit (20) on the basis of the signal extracted by the signal extraction unit (35); and a display (37) which issues a warning in cases when precursory phenomena are detected by the failure detection unit (36).</p> |
