PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is switchable to a display mode and a mirror mode and which can secure a favorable picture quality in the display mode.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal panel having a plurality of transmission parts and a plurality of mirror parts; a light source; and a control part. The transmission parts are switchable to an image display state and a black display state. The mirror parts are provided with a reflection member whose surface is flat, and are switchable between a mirror state and a non-mirror state independently of the transmission part. The number of the mirror parts is smaller than the number of the transmission parts, and the area of each mirror part is two times or more than the area of each transmission part. The transmission parts and the mirror parts are connected to different gate lines via switching elements, respectively, and the number of the gate lines connected to the mirror parts are smaller than the number of the gate lines connected to the transmission parts. The control part allows the transmission parts to be in the image display state or the black display state, and allows the mirror parts to be in the mirror state or the non-mirror state. |
