PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an addition polymerization catalyst component or the like for an addition polymerization catalyst capable of producing an addition polymer having a higher molecular weight.SOLUTION: A method for producing a catalyst for polymerizing an olefin comprises a process of producing a catalyst component (B) for polymerizing the olefin by bringing an activating agent compound into contact with a group of particles of an inorganic substance or organic polymer while agitating the same in a solvent under agitation power of not less than 0.05 kW/m, and a process of bringing the catalyst component (B) for polymerizing the olefin into contact with a compound (A) of a transition metal belonging to the fourth group of the periodical table of elements, the compound (A) having at least one cyclopentadiene form anionic skeleton. |
