WAKE CONVERGENCE DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE

The present embodiments provide a wake convergence device that allows for the increase in pressure of the low pressure region created behind the "square-shaped" trailing edge of a trailer. The present embodiments also reduce the effect of the trailing edge tip vortices and re-streamlines the flow shedding off the sides and top of the semi-trailer. The wake convergence device mounts to an existing trailer with aerodynamic brackets and hinges in a manner that will not impede a trailer's current practical function for loading and unloading of its payload. The wake convergence device efficiently manages the trailer's trailing edge flow because of its positioning that allows a gap between the wake convergence device and the trailer sides or top.
