The shearing machine (1) has a cassette for receiving a band knife (9), which is provided on left- and right side of a shearing table (5) and a shearing head (6). A master cassette (14) is provided with a rotatably mounted drum (15), on which a new band knife is wound. A slave cassette (30) is provided with a rotatably mounted drum (31), on which the band knife coming from the master cassette is wound. The rotational axes of the drums of the master cassette and the slave cassette run parallel to each other and are aligned perpendicular to the rotational axis of a shearing cylinder (4). An independent claim is included for a method for shearing of textile products, such as flat textiles, fabrics, rugs or fur products, with a shearing machine.
