The present invention relates to the technical field of communications and provides a method and system for short message service center (SMSC) address translation. The method comprises: receiving a short message sent by a terminal, the short message carrying information about an SMSC address; determining whether the information about the SMSC address exists in a configured SMSC address translation list; and if yes, translating the SMSC address into a corresponding new SMSC address in the SMSC address translation list. The present invention can effectively solve the problem in the prior art that the short message service (SMS) cannot be used normally when the SMSC address changes.
