The transmission shaft (1) has an internal lubricant channel (2) and a mold element (9), which is arranged partially in a central opening (8) of the transmission shaft in a positive- or force fit manner. An outer diameter (A) of the mold element is formed corresponding to an inside diameter (I) of the central opening. A recess (11) is formed on an outer circumference (10) of the mold element, where the recess forms the lubricant channel. The mold element comprises an elastomer which seals the recess in opposite side of the central opening. The mold element has a cylindrical base shape. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a transmission shaft.
