The case has a cowl (9) that covers an engine room. A recessed portion (19) is heavily deformable than the cowl. The recessed portion is formed on the underside of the cowl. The crushable supports (15,22) are directed into contact with the recessed portion. The crushable supports are contacted with the outer layer (8) of the sub-structure (1). An independent claim is included for a motor vehicle.
