A system for quantifying the physical demands of any occupation and the subsequent development of a valid physical capacity assessment tool (WorkMoves Physical Demand and Physical Capacity Assessment System) is disclosed. The system is commonly referred to as the WorkMoves PDA - PCA System. The WorkMoves PDA - PCA System allows workplace managers to identify and take control of the key physical risk factors attached to employee activity; with the aim of foreseeing and preventing physical injury, and then maximising human physical productivity. It firstly enables quantification of physical risk variables (WorkMoves Physical Demand Assessment or WorkMoves PDA) and then individual worker capacity (WorkMoves Physical Capacity Assessment or WorkMoves PCA) through focus on inherent physical requirements, identified through the PDA process. The WorkMoves PDA-PCA System is characterised by the addition, and risk assessment, of environmental and work routine fatigue factors not found in any other Physical Demand Assessments. The system is also unique in the design and allocation of a Risk Point system for Physical Demands of any occupation, and also for quantifying the physical capacity of any worker (Capacity Points) against the inherent requirements of their work. These assessments, and their associated risk point allocation system, empower workplace managers in a way which is unique for its scope, depth and integrated focus. |
