ELECTRODE MANUFACTURING METHOD

[Problem] To provide an electrode that exhibits excellent characteristics even when the electrode is formed on a foil-like collector and compressed in a relatively low temperature environment. [Solution] The electrode manufacturing method is provided with a step in which a coating region is formed by applying an active material layer to a collector surface while leaving a non-coated region, a step in which the applied active material layer is dried, and a compression step in which the density of the dried active material layer is increased in order to form a high-density region. In the compression step, a low-density region having a lower density than the high-density region is formed in a belt-shaped coating region adjacent to the non-coated region of the active material layer.
