PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide illuminating structure which facilitates diameter reduction of an optical observation device such as an endoscope and which can perform uniform illumination hardly causing halation, and to provide an endoscope using the illuminating structure.SOLUTION: An illuminating structure 10 includes: a light transmitting medium 11 that transmits excitation light 3 and image light 6; an objective optical system 12 disposed at the leading end portion of the light transmitting medium 11; a wavelength conversion section 14 having a fluorescent body 15 which receives the excitation light 3 transmitted through the light transmitting medium 11 and which radiates illuminating light 4 to an object 5; and a wavelength selective reflecting section 13 which selectively reflects either one of the wavelength of the excitation light 3 and the wavelength of the image light 6, thereby emitting the excitation light 3 toward the fluorescent body 15, the excitation light 3 being made incident through the light transmitting medium 11, and emitting the image light 6 toward the light transmitting medium 11 via the objective optical system 12, the image light 6 being made incident from the object 5. |
