Some aspects of the disclosure relate to a compression technique that can permit determining dynamically a satisfactory quantization matrix based at least on properties intrinsic to a digital object being compressed and a predetermined compression quality criterion, wherein the quantization matrix is associated with a specific space-domain-to-frequency-domain transforms.
