PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cesium adsorbent which can efficiently remove radioactive cesium even if an aqueous solution of radioactive cesium is alkaline which results from contact with incineration ash.SOLUTION: The cesium adsorbent is used for removing radioactive cesium from an alkaline aqueous solution of radioactive cesium resulting from contact with incineration ash discharged when contaminants with radioactive cesium thereon are burned. The cesium adsorbent contains, as an active constituent, nanoparticles of zinc-iron cyano complexes whose predominant composition is represented by the general formula AZn[Fe(CN)], where A is an atom originating from a cation, p is 0 to 0.8 and x is 0.3 to 0.7. |
