PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for efficiently extracting an assembly which is similar to a newly designed sub-assembly from among sub-assemblies designed in the past.SOLUTION: Achieved is the database system of an assembly capable of storing and searching a design or manufacturing information. A database adopts a system of storing the information of an assembly model created by a 3D-CAD, and inputting even an assembly site to be searched with a 3D assembly model. The similarity of the featured values or shapes of components constituting a sub-assembly to be searched and the degree of partial coincidence of an inter-component adjacent relation are determined, and the sub-assembly is extracted as a similar sub-assembly from whole assembly models. At that time, a sub-assembly site which is similar to a predetermined sub-assembly is searched from the whole assembly models by a search system of mixing the components the similarity of the shapes of which are taken into account and the components not taken into account, and taking into account of the adjacent relation of the components. Moreover, as for the search of an assembly structure, even when the constitution of the components is not completely coincident just like partially different, the search is performed, and the degree of coincidence is quantitatively presented. |
