In a method for effective identification of adjacent nodes in a mobile ad hoc network, each node transmits a message (1) for signalling its presence in a defined time pattern (TDelta1,TDelta2,TDelta3), the message being acknowledged by transmission of an acknowledgement message (2) from at least one node which first receives the message (1) for signalling the presence. The time pattern (TDelta2,TDelta3), in which the message (1) for signalling the presence is transmitted is varied by a node that is located outside of an ad hoc network. |
