The application relates to a method for positioning a user equipment (UE) in a cell served by a base station (BS), the BS comprises an array antennas capable of forming two or more beams in the cell, the method comprising: receiving beam information indicating which beam is selected, from the two or more beams, for serving the UE; and positioning the UE by determining an area where the UE is located in the cell based on the beam information. A network device, such as a radio network controller, and a base station for implementing the method are also disclosed. The method can be used with an RTT positioning method to improve the accuracy of position. |
