The reduction gear unit (10) has a housing (15) and an input shaft (20) rotatable relative to the housing, where the input shaft stands in gear connection with an output shaft (40). The output shaft is rotatably mounted in the housing. A friction element (25) is connected in torque proof manner with a gear element of the reduction gear unit and cooperates with a brake element (50) mounted in the housing. The brake element is mounted in a housing section (15a) in axially movable manner in the direction of the input shaft. The housing section partially receives the input shaft.
