To provide: a polymerizable compound represented by formula (1) or formula (2); a polymerizable liquid crystal composition which contains the polymerizable compound; a polymer, a coating film and an alignment film, each of which is obtained from the polymerizable liquid crystal composition; and an optical member which is provided with the alignment film.
