SEWING THREAD OF INORGANIC FIBER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SEWING THREAD OF INORGANIC FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing thread of an inorganic fiber which has high mechanical strength that an inorganic fiber such as a metal fiber and a glass fiber has, and has superior durability against friction generated between the sewing thread and a pinhole when being sewed.SOLUTION: A sewing thread of an inorganic fiber is formed by aligning a fusible thread on a surface of an inorganic fiber thread to provide a core thread, and covering the core thread with a winding thread of a synthetic fiber. A method for producing a sewing thread of an inorganic fiber comprises the steps of: producing a core thread by aligning a fusible thread on an inorganic fiber thread; covering the core thread with a winding thread of a synthetic fiber; and then heat-treating the resultant thread.
