Provided is a method whereby it is possible to produce a glass plate having a curved part, in which a flat plate section exhibits excellent flatness and smoothness. A glass flat plate (20) is subjected to radiation heating while a first section (21) of the glass flat plate (20) is sandwiched by means of a first and second heat-shielding material (31, 32). Then, second sections (22a, 22b) of the glass flat plate (20) which are not sandwiched by means of the first and second heat-shielding materials (31, 32) are bent.
