Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and a device for receiving system information. The method comprises: a UE user equipment receiving system information and/or system information updating indication of a service cell and/or a neighboring cell according to system configuration, comprising receiving the system information and/or the system information updating indication of the service cell and/or the neighboring cell from another location except a fixed location configured by the system. By means of the method and the device provided by the embodiments of the present invention, the user equipment can receive the system information from another location except the fixed location configured by the system, thereby solving the problem in the prior art that the user equipment cannot acquire the system information due to interference of system information at the fixed location.
