<p>A treatment system (1) is provided with a holding member (10) which holds living tissue (LT), and which has a heat generation unit (20). The heat generation unit (20) is provided with a plurality of thin-film resistors (23) connected in series by conductor wiring (25). When a signal output unit (31) supplies electric power to the heat generation unit (20), the resistors (23) generate heat, and this heat coagulates or dissects the living tissue (LT). A signal detection unit (33) detects voltage outputted by the output unit (31). A signal extraction unit (35) extracts a component having a frequency in the range of 1-10 Hz in the voltage. If the maximum absolute value of this component reaches 40 V, a failure detection unit (36) outputs a signal to a controller (34). When the controller (34) receives this signal, a warning is displayed on a display (37). A practitioner receives the warning at a point in time when a precursory phenomenon associated with failure of the heat generation unit (20) is present in the voltage, and can replace the heat generation unit (20) accordingly. As a result, failure of the heat generation unit (20) during treatment can be avoided. Besides voltage, current may be used.</p> |
