<p>A fiber laser, and a method and system for controlling the same relate to the communication field. First time is obtained in accordance with real-time temperature of a light gain medium and first output power of to-be-emitted light pulses. Light waves oscillate in an oscillation cavity at a preset first wavelength within the first time so that the light pulses reach the first output power and are emitted after the first time is up. Wavelength-adjustable light pulses can be generated with a wide adjustable wavelength range and can satisfy monitoring requirements of a passive optical network (PON) system. In addition, the wavelength adjustment of the light pulses is convenient and requires a short period of time.</p>
