PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and television receiver that can suppress light leak on a display surface of a display panel while the thickness and the frame width are decreased.SOLUTION: An upper limb of the back face of a circuit board 281 is in contact with a lower limb of the front face 23a of a light guide plate 23, and a lower end of the circuit board 281 is located inside an insertion groove 371 (namely, it is closer to LED substrate 26 than to LEDs 25, 25,...). A light shielding projection 34 blocks the range from the inner face of a front frame part 311 to a lower limb of the circumference of the front face 23a of the light guide plate 23. Therefore, among the light radiated from the LEDs 25, 25,..., the light that does not enter the inside of the light guide plate 23 through the lower end face 23b of the light guide plate 23 is blocked by the circuit board 281 or the light shielding projection 34 and hence does not enter the inside of the display panel 21. |
