PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that a cooling fan cooling a switching element emits a large operating sound, generating whirring noise in a quiet situation, such as early morning or deep midnight, and that providing an induction heating rice cooker with a heat accumulating unit for accumulating heat generated from the switching element, increases the size and weight of the rice cooker, thereby impairing its portability and storage efficiency.SOLUTION: An induction heating rice cooker includes a heating coil 5 heating a pot 2 by electromagnetic induction, an inverter 7 applying a high-frequency current to the heating coil 5 by a switching element 205, a control means 8 controling the inverter 7, and a pot temperature detecting means 9 which detects the temperature of the pot 2. The induction heating rice cooker has a first immersion step of applying a high-frequency current to the heating coil 5 to raise the temperature of the pot 2 to a predetermined temperature, based on a detected temperature, a second immersion step of stopping supply of the high-frequency current to the heating coil 5 not based on the detected temperature, a cooking step and boiling maintaining step in which a high-frequency current is applied to the heating coil 5. |
