A person detection device (1), on the basis of various information from a weather information input unit (3), determines the weather state, such as rain or solar radiation. In addition, on the basis of the determination result of the weather state, the invention calculates an umbrella ratio which indicates the percentage of people who have an umbrella. The person detection device, using a without-umbrella recognition model describing people who do not have an umbrella, and a with-umbrella recognition model describing people who do have an umbrella, performs pattern recognition for an input image, and derives recognition scores by way of each of the recognition models. Then, the invention corrects each of the recognition scores by the pattern recognition which has used each of the without-umbrella and with-umbrella recognition models using an umbrella ratio corresponding to the weather state so as to output the recognition scores as final detection results. |
