The method involves receiving signals that partially enables assistance of position and/or movement of a traffic participant with low agility by a processing unit (2). Outputs are received by the partial position and/or the movement of the traffic participant with high agility by an acceleration sensor (4), which is located at road users. Determination is made to find whether collision is imminent, based on the received signals to the processing unit and outputs of a sensor. A warning is issued if the determination indicates that the collision is imminent. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a mobile terminal (2) a computer program comprising a set of instructions for warning a threatening collision of a road user (3) a processing unit.
