The heating- and cooling system (2) has a generator (32) or a consumer for heating or cooling a temperature transfer medium to a temperature value. The generator or the consumer is connected to a temperature line system with three lines (4,6,8), which are formed for guiding the temperature transfer medium with different temperatures. The generator or the consumer is connected to the two lines by a mixer (18,20) such that the reference temperature of the temperature transfer medium for the generator or the consumer is adjustable. An independent claim is included for a method for operating a heating- and cooling system.
