The high-voltage battery assembly (1) has a high-voltage battery (2) that is configured for driving the motor vehicle. A thermal insulation layer (5) is made of a foamed material on a bottom of the high-voltage battery. The insulating layer is applied on rockfall protective layer (6). The insulating layer is provided with of a closed-pore foamed material. The rockfall protection layer has a uniform thickness. An independent claim is included for a motor vehicle.
