PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable steering operation even when a sensor fails in a steer-by-wire system by additionally providing an inexpensive and simple member.SOLUTION: A vehicle steering device includes: a steering mechanism having a steering member 2 and steering angle sensor; a turning steering mechanism which is mechanically disconnected from the steering mechanism; a control device for controlling a turning motor M of the turning steering mechanism; a first motion conversion mechanism 40 for converting the steering operation based on the neutral position of the steering member 2 into a linear motion in the predetermined direction; and a second motion conversion mechanism 50 which is connected to the first motion conversion mechanism 40 to convert a linear motion into a rotational motion. In the vehicle steering device, the turning motor command value for controlling the turning motor M is determined based on a detection signal from the second motion conversion mechanism 50 when the steering angle sensor 12 fails to control the turning motor M. |
