PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a viewer to feel presence corresponding to the background portion of an image at the viewing place of the image.SOLUTION: An illumination control device 16, which controls an illuminator 80 for illuminating, with illumination light, user's viewing place of an image displayed by a display device 10, comprises a background area identification unit 16a and an adjustment unit 16b. On the basis of a motion vector embedded in image data of the image displayed by the display device 10, the background area identification unit 16a identifies a background area in the image. The adjustment unit 16b adjusts at least the brightness or color of the illumination light of the illuminator 80 on the basis of the image data corresponding to the background area. |
