<p>A device for displaying electrowetting comprises a first substrate, a second substrate, an electrowetting layer, a first electrode, a second electrode, and a hydrophobic barrier layer. The electrowetting layer is positioned between the first substrate and the second substrate, and comprises a first fluid and a second fluid having electrical conductivity or polarity. The first electrode is positioned on the first substrate. The second electrode generates an electric field which controls the position of the first fluid with the first electrode. The hydrophobic barrier layer is positioned between the first substrate and the electrowetting layer and covers the first electrode. The hydrophobic barrier comprises a first surface which is attached to the first electrode and a second surface which is attached to the electrowetting layer because the hydrophobicity of the second surface is greater than the hydrophobicity of the first surface.</p> |
