[Class 80 (i).] In a machine of the drum type described in Specification 295,323, [Class 142 (iv), Woven fabrics &c.], for making cemented pile fabrics, wherein pile material is inserted into the spaces between wire spacing elements on the surface of the drum 100, the inserting devices are mounted in yokes 228, Fig. 10, united to gear casings 218, carrying the shafts of worms 254, which drive the drum by gearing with worm wheels 136 thereon in such a manner that the inserting devices, the worms and the drum axis are substantially in one plane. Moreover, the yokes 228 and the casings 218 are united to levers 202 pivoted on fixed tie-rods 204, and acted upon by springs 222, as shown in Fig. 5, which cause grooved pulleys 214 on adjustable studs on the levers 202, to bear against guiding projections 213 on the drum, which is heated, whereby correct driving of the drum for varying temperatures thereof is assured. |
