The invention relates to reactive sols which contain a liquid phase and nanoscale particles carrying functional groups. The sol is characterized by containing at least one monomer and/or at least one oligomer having 2 to 15 repeating structural units which comprise at least two functional chemical groups, and at least one intercalating agent likewise having at least two reactive chemical groups, the intercalating agent being chosen such that its functional groups do not react with the functional groups of the monomer and/or oligomer. The invention also relates to a method for producing the reactive sols.
