METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PERFORATING A THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE

The method involves moving fibers (10) i.e. long-grain fibers, maintained in a hard organic matrix (11) at a location required for a hole. A material of the matrix is heated around a preliminary hole at a temperature. The fibers are moved, and the material is pushed at a plastic state of the matrix till attaining a section required for a hole. The material is cooled at a temperature or a temperature lower than the heating temperature by maintaining the pushed material of the matrix and the moved fibers around the formed hole, where the matrix does not have a thermoplastic property. An independent claim is also included for a drilling device for forming a hole in a part formed of fibers.
