PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixed type member for displacing molten glass where the generation of foreign matters from members such as a refractory, an electrode and the like is suppressed and oxygen bubbles generated in relation to the behavior of oxygen and water in the molten glass can be suppressed without large expenses for equipment and labor for works and to provide a method for producing a glass article by the member. SOLUTION: The fixed type member for displacing molten glass 1 is placed in a flow path 100 of the molten glass, has heat resistance for the displacement of the molten glass G flowing in, has a wall surface flow separating means where the molten glass G flowing in whose distance from the wall surface of the flow path is within 10 mm is moved by 10 mm or more further and has a flow introducing means from a center to the wall surface where the molten glass G flowing in whose distance from the wall surface of the flow path is more than 10 mm is moved within 10 mm or less from the wall. The glass article is produced by placing the fixed type member for displacing the molten glass at the upstream of an actuating type agitator for the molten glass in a glass melting furnace.
