A slip for supporting a member, the slip comprising one or more rolling elements (9, fig 14) for gripping the member. The slip may be formed from a plurality of pivotally connected segments 2 on which the rolling elements are arranged. The rolling elements are arranged to roll along ramps (8, fig 6) when contacted by the member, the ramps arranged to urge the rollers towards the member (14, fig 14) and grip the member. The member is preferably a pipe section. |
