A stowable table 1 for an aircraft passenger seat unit comprises a plurality of table elements 7a-d, each of the table elements having a primary surface which when deployed forms part of a table surface. The table is mounted to an upright member 3. The table elements are arranged such that the table is movable to a stowed configuration in which the table elements are arranged in a concertina formation in a stack. The table can be arranged to, an intermediate configuration in which a first pair of the table elements 7a, 7b are unfolded from the stack such that the primary surfaces are co-planar to form an intermediate-sized table surface. The table can be arranged to a fully-deployed configuration in which a second pair of table elements 7c, 7d are unfolded from the stack such that the primary surfaces of both pairs of table elements are co-planar to form a full-sized table surface. The two pairs of table elements are hinged together at a hinge 12 and each pair have hinges 9, 11. The table includes supporting arms 15 which are pivoted beneath the table and support the table in a deployed configuration. A handle 13 is provided to enable a passenger to move the table. |
