HIGH FREQUENCY WAVE VACUUM DRYING METHOD AND APPARATUS OF HEAVY TIMBER FOR A WOODEN HOUSE

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for vacuum-drying a heavy timber for a wooden house by using high frequency waves capable of drying the inner part and the outer part of the timber substantially at a regular percentage of water content while drying smoothly the timber with a large size or width such as the heavy timber, and adjusting the percentage of water content of the timer, conveniently and easily. The drying apparatus comprises: a drying chamber for accommodating and sealing a plurality of timbers carried and layered in a truck; a high frequency wave heating part having a plurality of electrode plates inserted between the upper parts and the lower parts of the timers and a high frequency oscillator electrically connected to the electrode plates and installed at the outside of the drying chamber; the vacuum pump installed at the outside of the drying chamber connected to the drying chamber for vacuuming the space within the drying chamber by discharging the air from the inner space of the drying chamber; a water conversion part installed at the drying chamber for converting a moisture, evaporated from the timbers, into water by cooling the inner side of the drying chamber; a water weight detecting part installed at the lower part of the drying chamber for detecting the weight of the water discharged externally from the inner part of the drying chamber; and a controller for performing an on/off control on the high frequency oscillator to attain approximately a preset target percentage of water content by comparing the detected timber weight with an initial timber weight.
