<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form comparatively easily and stably a desired scribe groove onto tempered glass having a tempered surface. <P>SOLUTION: This scribing method, which is a method for scribing tempered glass whose surface has a tempered layer carrying compressive stress, has a first step and a second step. In the first step, an initial crack is formed on the surface of the tempered glass by removing a part of the tempered layer by a cutter wheel with a rotatable blade edge in the static state. In the second step, the initial crack is irradiated with laser light to be heated, and the heated region is cooled, to thereby develop the crack along the scribe projected line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&amp;INPIT</p> |
