<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damper used for a vibration-control structure of a building, which has a confiquration suitable for being connected between structural materials and which can realize damping-force characteristics suitable for damping. <P>SOLUTION: A piston 4, to which a piston rod 3 is slidably connected, is inserted to a cylinder 2 where an oil liquid and gas are contained. A grease reservoir 28 is provided to an oil seal 7 which seals the space between the cylinder 2 and the piston rod 3. A disc valve 14 functions as a check valve against an extension stroke of the piston rod 3 so as not to generate any damping force, while against a contraction stroke the disc valve 14 generates a large damping force in accordance with its opening. Because of this, the load on the oil seal 7 is reduced, and a tensile load acting on the attachment part of the structural material is reduced. By supplying grease to the oil seal 7 by the grease reservoir 28, the smooth strokes of the piston rod 3 can be performed, and the stable damping force characteristics can be obtained even when operation frequency is low. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&amp;INPIT</p> |
