The switching chamber has an exhaust module that is provided in a coaxial arrangement over an exhaust unit (9). A housing (3) and a cup (16) limit a flow path (25) for the exhaust gas (24) with an electrically shielded, axially aligned discharge opening. The discharge opening is formed as an annular gap (20), where the flow path contains an additional volume (19). The cup is manufactured by casting, sheet forming and sheet welding, where the cup is removably connected with the exhaust unit.
