<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing apparatus for sealing between a communication cable or a power cable and a protective tube for housing and holding the cable, which can seal cables regardless of the number of cables. <P>SOLUTION: The sealing apparatus 31 includes a water expanding sheet 41 wound around a cable 11, and a packing 51 attached to the cable 11 from above the water expanding sheet 41 and having an inner circumferential surface in contact with the water expanding sheet 41 and an outer circumferential surface in contact with the protective tube.
